Last weekend I headed over to the Windsor to photograph the 2014 Members Golf Tournament. The Windsor is located along A1A in Vero Beach and ever year they host a few Golf, Tennis and Polo Tournaments that I photograph.

I started snapping photos around 9am and finished up about 2pm. The morning light was perfect, a bit hazy but not to hot. The sun popped out a few times but over all there was no wind. The Golf and photography Conditions were perfect. "FOUR!"

Gear used: Nikon D600, 70-200mm Nikko 2.8 lens, Nikon AF-S 14-24mm 1:2.8G,
Manfrotto 681B Monopod and a SanDisk Extreme 32BG Card.

I'd rather be salty then slimy, wet then dry, warm then cold and happy.

Below are a few water photos from last week's swells.

Notice not only is the sand and water getting sucked up but the light is also.

Fisheye photo looking through the wave from underwater. I almost nailed it.

Trying to spilt the view on this glassy gem.

Getting that under over photo is a challenge. Shameless Selfie :)

The water's visibility was perfect on this morning.

Well it finally turned on around 2pm and things changed quickly! It went from flat to overhead in minutes. I heard at some spots it was pumping well overhead. I surfed alone for about a hour and then shot when the crowd thickened.

Gear used here was a NikonD300, 10.5mm Fisheye Nikon Lens (reason why it looks so small),  D-1 Aquatech Water Housing, Churchills fins and a Patagonia R1 long sleeve top.

Check out this Video from just a couple of guys taking turns surfing and filming. Sharing is good!

VEGAbond - one day in JAX -Rick Mellen and Andrew Fletcher

Every once in a blue moon I get a phone call from my good friend Andrew Fletcher about how JAX is going to be good to epic conditions. It seems every time I go up its a roll of the dice. One time I went up and it was 30 mph winds from the north/northeast with water temps that required booties, gloves and hoodie just for a two hour sesh. After that day I make sure everything is inline for those conditions to take shape. This last weekend in particular had all the right signs to lead to redemption for all the skunking times before. Luck was on our side and unfolded to become a really killer day of surfing. Water had a little bite but with the sun and no clouds it all balanced out well to produce a short fun surf video. No paid camera man, just us taking turns filming and getting the clips. ENJOY!

This fall has been pretty interesting. The surf has been ok basically a bunch of choppy days with some heavy wind swell. Nothing really to shoot but plenty to surf. Here are a few photos from October 2013.

Shooting surfing is # 1 and We finally had some good surf at home.

Every now and then I will journey inland in search of something interesting to shoot besides surfing. On Saturday it was my nephews WBFL playoff game in Lake Worth Florida. Both teams played extremely tuff but the Gators came out on top after a 0-6 overtime win. It was truly a defensive game on both sides of the field.

I photographed this game shooting with a Nikon D600 using a AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II Lens. I did not use a monopod but instead I floated seamlessly around the field using the afternoon light to my advantage. It's not the pros but at least I'm shooting.

https://pauldimarcophotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2013/10/this-hurricane-season-sucked-donkey This Hurricane Season Sucked Donkey #$*@!
Hola,

I hope everyone is doing well and catching lots of waves on a daily beat. It's been a while since I posted anything here, mostly because the summer in Florida has sucked donkey balls and the Hurricane Season we just had was the worst in 30 years. That's a life time for us 40 year olds surfers.

The fall has been decent for North Florida and the Outer Banks with back 2 back swells, lots of barrels and your occasional rattle snake in the line up at NSB. We still have a few more weeks of hurricane season left so maybe we will get lucky.

Here in South Florida we have had a few small swells. One day stands out for me the most in Martin County that was fun. I scored it good in the morning until late in the afternoon when the wind finally came around. The session was so needed

It's kind of sad that I haven't been shooting. I've been surfing when the waves are good but thats about to change.

Over the weekend I rewired my Aquatech Water Housing and went from a little swim to test it out. I went down to the LW Pier and snapped a few shots pushing the limits in solid knee high surf.  Everything seemed to work well and tomorrow we should have some bigger surf upcoast to tackle.

Ever since Hurricane Sandy it's been hard to get pumped up for any East Coast swell. There have been swells but nothing as epic and powerful as that Super Storm. I'm not sure if we will see anything like that again and I am torn on hoping it happens again. Continue to photo feature. Click Here.

https://pauldimarcophotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2013/4/the-swarovski-2013-interclub-clay-shoot The Swarovski 2013 Interclub Clay Shoot Photo Shoot

This was my first time photographing a Clay Shooting Tournament and it wasn't the easiest of shoots. I think I nailed a few but could improve on a few things.

First, I was very limited in where I wanted to be to get the get shot of them shooting. That sounds funny!  Of course I wanted to be staring down the barrel of the gun but I really didn't trust anyone that well with a gun.

Second, the lighting and the environment. I was forced to shoot from the side and rear wearing ear plugs. The shooting was mostly in the shade with light blasting through the trees and creating harsh shadows. Using a flash was not an option while shooting was taking place so I cranked the ISO.

The contest was very processional and sponsored by Swarovski Crystal. I used a Nikon D600 and a Nikon D300 switching back and forth. I do love the crisp photos that the D600 is capturing but as most people know it's not for action. I only used two lens and they were the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 and a Nikon14-24mm f/2.8. Both lens are excellent, fast and super sharp!

Take a look at some photos from the contest and please share any feed back below in the comments field. For booking please call 561-305-2045 or email Paul DiMarco at [email protected].

The Thanksgiving Holiday is over and I am thankful for all the work and waves that came my way. In South Florida we had a strong 5 day run of perfect surf. It seemed each day go better and better. I missed Saturday but scored of a Reef on Sunday. Once again I didn't shoot that much and spent most of my time free surfing between works and family. What a week!

It's been a few weeks since Hurricane Sandy slammed into the North East destroying just about everything in it's path. I waited this long to post a feature for a couple of reasons. Click here for more photo!

The week of waves we had from Hurricane Sandy will go down in history as one of the best swells ever documented in Florida. Nature's destructive beauty at it's best in my home state of Florida. For the people effected by her destruction please help and support the right cause. Live, Love and Surf!

These photos are from Oct 28, 2012 at Pump House on Singer Island Florida during the Hurricane Sandy Swell. I posted up on the jetty for hours snapping photos and waiting to get washed away by a freak set. Lets say I got lucky. The one moon shot is from Boynton Beach, Florida and the other wave/sand photo is from Reef Road, Palm Beach.

It was truly an epic day for surfing. Oct 27-29th will go down as being one of the best and biggest swells in history along the Florida coast. A day many of us will never forget and pray it happens more often.

https://pauldimarcophotography.zenfolio.com/blog/2012/10/seven-days-from-storm-named-hurricane SEVEN DAYS FROM A STORM NAMED HURRICANE LESLIE
I just released I never posted this feature.... Ahhhh can you say busy?!

Anyway ,

I am so happy to finally post this feature online. After a good week of surf on the east coast my computer decided to die with all my freshly shot Leslie content on it. Cool right? Nope! I admit I panicked but backed up my drives and headed to the Apple store. No worries I was able to get it back up and running after a week and put this short Leslie Feature together.

After 7 days, 168 hours, 10,080 minutes, 604,800 seconds or how ever you would like to put it we scored! But what did we just witness? A perfect storm in the Atlantic Ocean for surfers that produced epic conditions for Seven Days straight, Yep a storm named Leslie! in Florida we had waves from Sunday to Sunday and it's still going off up coast from that other low. I also just read NY is pumping and perfect! I freaking love September!

I spent the first 4 out of the 7 days shooting and surfing up in New Smyrna Beach Florida, I took my time planned my days and scored. When the wind went off shore I was in Miami shooting for real money but wishing that I was in the water getting barreled.

On the second Sunday I headed to central Florida with my two kids and scored a crowed but perfect North Jetty. I shot all day, surfed, shot again from the water, surf and drank a few cold Coors Lights on the beach with my buddies adding to a buzz in my body I haven’t felt in a long time. I can thank Leslie for that and her Seven Days of Heaven! Thank You Mother Earth!

Editors notes: This feature we tried something defferent. We reached out to a group of east coast photographers asking to please submit some of their photography from Hurricane Leslie. Our response was good but not great there are a few Photogs out there that want no part of submitting to us. It's all-good. Atlantic Surf Life is about the people that included themselves. We are a small website looking for support from the East Coast surf community. We are creating a community of surfers and photographers that love to live the Atlantic Surf Life and give back to each other. Please if you shoot photos feel free to submit photos at anytime. I can’t promise you that we will use them but we would be stoked to include you in our goals.

Check out all the photos and finish reading this short feature. Click Here!!!
